Deborah J Crozier is a trauma-informed practitioner specialising in nervous system regulation and relational safety. She developed The Belonging Pathway to help people shift from shutdown and overwhelm into steadiness, connection, and inner coherence.
Known for precise nervous-system attunement and a deeply compassionate presence, Deborah has supported survivors, families, practitioners, students and leaders for over a decade.
Experience & Background
- Founder & Director of A Positive Start CIC – Led a trauma community organisation for 10 years, supporting individuals, families and practitioners across health, education, social care and community networks.
- Creator of the TRUST Framework – A trauma-informed relational approach developed from lived experience and practice – not a tick-box policy. TRUST supports the creation of emotionally safe spaces by guiding people to:

- Truth – The framework centres nervous system awareness, relational steadiness and compassionate communication as the foundation for healing and connection.
- Global Ambassador form My Body Is My Body (MBIMB) and Parenting 2.0
- My Body is My Body is a global child abuse prevention and body-safety education programme used in over 40 countries.
- Parenting 2.0 is an international community of professionals committed to raising public awareness of emotional health, social learning and safeguarding skills for children and families.
- Advisory Board Member and Head of Scotland for MBIMB – Providing strategic guidance, safeguarding insight and trauma-informed practice leadership for the rollout of body-safety education across Scotland.
- Co-Creator of The River Room Songbook (with Chrissy Sykes) – A trauma-informed music and storytelling resource supporting emotional regulation, self-compassion, connection and safety for children. Delivered in Education and community settings to help children express feelings and develop inner emotional anchors.
- Author and Facilitator of STAND: Parents as Protectors (in partnership with Safeguarding Fundamentals) -A safeguarding programme teaching families how grooming works, how perpetrators create trust, and how to develop protective relational and nervous-system awareness to interrupt grooming patterns before harm occurs.
- Workshops, Supervision & Consultation for Teams and Leaders – Supporting schools, safeguarding teams, frontline practitioners and community organisations to embed relational safety, nervous system awareness and compassionate trauma-informed practice.
